Melt and Pour Dashboard The new SIMA system was built as part of the September 2020 new regulations adding a new field to the Steel Import Monitoring and Analysis (SIMA) steel import license. This new field will require license applicants to state the country where finished steel imported into the United States was originally melted and poured. Tracking this new data field will enable the steel industry to identify potential transshipment and circumvention with the SIMA monitor.
